The HOUSING OVERSITE BOARD consists of 5 members for 3-year terms, appointed by the Mayor, (Safety Service Director and Mayor are permanent). This Housing Oversite Board shall be comprised of a Council Member, a local Landlord (that is also either a qualified elector or owns rental property within the City of Alliance), a local Tenant (that is also qualified elector within the City), the Safety Service Director, and the Mayor.
The HOB purpose is to promote health, safety, and welfare of the residents and landowners. By establishing a system of unit registration, rating of property, and inspection of property and fees. All property’s not just landlords. Improve housing stock, welfare of residents, neighborhood blight. The responsibility of the HOB is to enforce Chapter 771, Ordinance 15-25.
