Collection of Loose Leaves

On November 1, 2021, the Street Department will tentatively begin its annual leaf pickup program to collect large piles of leaves that are raked out to the curb lawn throughout the City.  Residents are reminded NOT to put piles of leaves in the streets as it causes road hazards and an be cited by the Police Department.  Please refer to Codified Ordinances 937.05 and 311.01(d).

Leaves cannot be picked up if cars are parked in front of the piles.  Residents are also reminded not to put debris in with the leaves such as garbage, shrubs, tree limbs or yard waste as they will not be picked up.  Anything other than leaves will not go through the leaf machine.  All leaves must be placed in the curb lawn to be picked up by the Street Department.  City crews will proceed through each section one time.  A second sweep through each section will only be possible if weather conditions remain favorable.  Residents can place bagged leaves out along with their regular trash to be picked up by Kimble Refuse on regularly scheduled trash pick-up day in the event two complete rounds are not possible.

Areas of collection and order is as follows:

  1. West of Sawburg Ave., Main St. to State St.
  2. Rockhill Ave. to Sawburg Ave., Main St. to State St.
  3. South of State St., west of Rockhill Ave.
  4. South of State St., east of Rockhill Ave.
  5. Rockhill Ave to Union Ave., Main St. to State St.
  6. North of Main St., west of Union Ave.
  7. North of Main St., east of Union Ave.
  8. East of Union Ave., Main St. to State St.

Attempts will be made to keep the public notified through the local media, City website and social media as to where the crews are working.  Inquiries should be directed to the Street Department (330) 823-3133 Monday through Friday from 7am to 3pm.

Collection of leaves in the areas West of Sawburg Av., Main St. to State St. and Rockhill Ave., Main St. to State St. will tentatively begin on Monday, November 1st, 2021.  This date is subject to change based on sufficient piles of leaves to be collected in these areas.
